CREATING A BIKE GANG
Yesterday we were taking a much deserved studio break outside of Greenhouse WHEN SUDDENLY we found a bike that had been abandoned in the middle of the street! Everyone knows people are more menacing and respected when they travel in packs, so we decided to create a BIKE GANG!

WHAT SHOULD WE CALL OUR BIKE GANG?

THE PAST 7: JULY 29
Every week we will display photos of our experiences over the past 7 days. The shots will not have any context, so you can attach whatever meaning to them you wish.

YA KNOW WHEN YOU'RE SAD?

You know when something happens in your life to make you so sad, you can’t focus on other things?….The way you’re feeling can’t possibly be expressed to anyone else because they just don’t “get it”……You want to complete everyday tasks but would rather just cry??

You start mumbling specific “CATCH PHRASES” to express your discontent.
You take opportunities given by close friends to “OPEN UP”
You turn to other creative minds to express better ways of how you’re feeling.
Yeah…..

THE CRAZY WEEKEND!
WOW.
Sometime during the hailstorm of the last few days, my camera went missing. I was unable to capture quite a few moments that were a defining example of why this summer has been so exciting and memorable. I know what they say….”if you don’t have photos, it didn’t really happen”.
Well, then I guess we haven’t been recording AMAZING TRACKS at Greenhouse in a room next to AKON (lol). I guess I didn’t take a boat ride through a hazy orange/purple lightning filled sky to watch fireworks. I guess I didn’t play a dope party on the 8th floor of Mr. Chin’s studio while blasting energy into the darkness of the downtown Vancouver skyline. I guess I didn’t rock out at V-Fest with Metric. I guess I didn’t see Bruno (actually I wish I skipped out on that…)
BLAH BLAH BLAH….it saddens me that I didn’t (and still don’t) have my camera. However, I am indeed greatful for such an exciting last couple of days and therefore will relish the memories for decades to come.
Time to invest in a new one?

Too much gaming… S.T.A.L.K.E.R
Alright… normally I wouldn’t be looking for an excuse to spend more time parked in front of a computer, but amidst all the audio/video editing I’ve been doing lately, I developed the desire to do something ‘fun’ – gaming! I generally avoid this urge (I get addicted way to fast), but my PC got the best of me ….how you ask? Well, I installed a 2 year old game called STALKER – Shadow of Chernobyl that I had laying around annndddd big surprise … I couldn’t stop playing it til I’d beat it every possible way (thankfully it’s now out of my system… time to catch up on sleep!)…

Obviously, STALKER isn’t the most amazing 1st person shooter out there (tons of bugs to report, stagnant AI, etc), but I still dug the missions and I’m big-time into the story… For those who don’t know what I’m talking about, the game is based in the area (Zone) around Chernobyl (most famous for the 1986 nuclear power plant disaster)… The game is modeled on the actual area and is super creepy … radiated and abandoned apartments, schools, vehicles, zombies, mutated animals, and every man for themselves… Anyways, here’s a few images from the game as well as the real town for comparison… *sigh* I’m over it, back to real work now …. -AD

Oh! By the way, for anyone that’s interested in Chernobyl in general, I found an amazing blog post about it with photos – this dude traveled through there recently and snapped some eerry shots. Check it at http://www.stuckincustoms.com/2007/02/02/nuclear-winter-in-chernobyl/
